Michael Carson (American, b.1972) is a painter best known for his figurative depictions of men and women rendered with a hazy realism that has become the artist's signature. Sometimes compared to artists Edgar Degas and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Carson is primarily concerned with capturing the fleeting and forgotten moments of everyday life with a particular focus on the faces and hands of his subjects. Carson comments, “I love the ways that a single brushstroke can create such subtleties in facial expression. I spend most of my time on the face and hands. They tell the story.”

Carson currently lives and works in Scottsdale, AZ
